Inoculations

Vaccinating

None of the dogs is protected from diseases caused by such microscopic organisms as bacteria and viruses, which easily penetrate into the organism when contacting with an ill dog. These are called the dog's basic infections. Rabies and distemper, caused by viruses and leptospirosis that has a bacterial origin exemplify this group of diseases.

What are inoculations for?

If the dog catches a microorganism his immune system reacts immediately and produces immune bodies that act as destroyers of the source of the infection. But both viruses and bacteria of the most dangerous diseases are so potent that are able to strike vital organs quickly and severely before the organism can identify the microorganism and react fluently on the invasion. So this entails a serious sickness that very often may cause the animal's death.

To defend the puppy from the basic infections you should conduct the complete course of preventive inoculations by the 12th week of dog's life and conduct a revaccination once a year later on.

Consider that in case if the preventive inoculations haven't been done, very often at the time when the first symptoms of disease appear a vet is already unable to help your pet.

The inoculations needed

DAYJARIS FORGER The list of diseases your dog may catch much depends on the place you live in. The way of life is also of high importance for your pup's healthy life. If you often walk in the places visited by many dogs then no doubt the probability to get the infection increases.

Anyway one should consult to a local vet which inoculations should be done.

When to conduct the vaccination?

The exact time of vaccination depends on the vaccine applied as well as on general recommendations for your region and a country as a whole.

In first several weeks of his life the puppy is protected from the basic infections with immune bodies he gets through milk from his mother (dam's immune bodies appear after the inoculation or the diseases she had earlier).

This protection gradually gets weaker as the puppy grows bigger and at the age of 12 weeks runs close to the end.

A Puppy Vaccination Scheme

The standard course of vaccination consists of two parts, separated by the interval of several weeks. I use "Nobilis" produced by "Intervet". And here give an account of the vaccination scheme for this vaccine.

N 1 Scheme

At the age of 4 - 6 weeks - Nobilis PARVO-C or Nobilis PUPPY DP.
At the age of 8 - 9 weeks - Nobilis DHPPI combined with Nobilis LEPTO.
At the age of 12 weeks - Nobilis RABIES or Nobilis RL.

N 2 Scheme

At the age of 8 - 9 weeks - Nobilis DHPPI combined with Nobilis LEPTO.
At the age of 12 weeks - Nobilis DHPPI combined with Nobilis LEPTO, or Nobilis RABIES or Nobilis RL.

N 3 Scheme

At the age of 12 weeks Nobilis DHPPI combined with Nobilis LEPTO, or Nobilis RABIES or Nobilis RL

Revaccination

1. Carnivore distemper and adenoviral hepatitis - every 2 years
2. Parvovirus and parainfluenza affecting dogs - every year
3. Rabies - every 3 years (Every year for Russia)

Something more about inoculations

Pup's reaction on to the inoculation is very different but usually they are quite calm during first days. If it seems that your pup's reaction onto the vaccination is bad turn to a vet immediately.

Vaccination doesn't guarantee that your dog won't catch any of the diseases mentioned above but cases when the inoculation doesn't help to beat a fatal illness are extremely rare.

Remember that the puppy shouldn't contact with non-inoculated dogs and visit public places for one or better two weeks after the inoculation done.
